TREE OF LIFE
Salvador Cariaga
When Bobby Moore recently visited the Philippines, he was commenting to Jennie and I how unique and mature our eldest son Peter is. Peter, who is now attending college at Oklahoma Christian, was once in his youth group at Altamesa Church of Christ. Later on, he added, “But when I met your students, trainees, and young co-workers here, they are all like Peter.” We are blessed to be surrounded with teachable and talented young men and women who are eager to serve the Lord. We hope to continue nurturing and discipling them to continue the work long after we are gone. We envision them to plant hundreds of churches and build dozens of Christian schools to further the cause of Christ.
Bobby is a founder of an organization that is helping us to raise more ‘Peters’ from ground up. TREE OF LIFE sponsors poor children to help them receive a quality Christian education for just $25 a month. It is similar to an organization called “World Vision.” While most churches of Christ will not support WV, some might be willing to donate to a brotherhood-sponsored ministry like TOL. During Bobby’s visit, I personally witnessed how much he cares for people, especially kids. He is child-like in many ways and he bonded quickly with our young missionaries here.
