Babag News: WEE Care ‘graduation’
April 07
After over a year of operation, “WEE CARE” celebrated a graduation of sorts in Babag. It was a moving experience for us all. Lots of hard work was put into it. The staff gave it a lot of thought and preparation. Parents and relatives came. Church members attended. Green Garden faculty was present. A ranking Government education official was there. Sunrise Christian College president and students who majored in education graced the occation. By the grace of God, it was a success.
For me, it reaffirmed my commitment to Christian education in partnership with a local church. For $100 a month, WEE CARE got started with the help of PFCE (Partners for Christian Education) led by John Gardner of Oklahoma City. Babag Church of Christ of course took ownership of the program led by preacher Elmer Palacio. Pam Pague served as a competent teacher as Jessica and Connie who preceeded her. Linda Henry’s presence and influence also played a key role in this ministry as did Dr. John C. Bailey. Special thanks to Steve and Linda Cervas who support the Babag church planting mission.
Tomorrow’s graduation program at Green Gardent Christian School is sure to cause traffic jam in our street and a full house in our compound. Bernie and her team have been preparing long and hard for this grand finale.
Salvador Cariagaps. We hope to start 100 Christians schools like Wee Care in the next ten years. Most of our teachers will be graduates of Sunrise Christian College.
Urgent Need: Missionary-in-residence Bible Teachers at Sunrise Christian College. Short-term. Up to one year. http://www.philippinechurchesofchrist.org/sunrise/photos.htm
